The new EP by Afro Elements features two brand new remixes of ‘Lift Your Life’ - one by ace bass player and producer Punkpappa and the other by Simon T Bramley under his Mr. Gone moniker. In addition to this remix, there’s a radio edit of the original version track for 2017. Also included in the full EP is a brand new track entitled ‘Central Do Brasil’.

The Mr. Gone remix of ‘Lift Your Life’ features Simon’s distinct love of all things Brazilian by way of a kick-heavy samba funk groove, reminiscent of George Duke, complete with jazzy, Bossa Nova style chord progressions and a creamy moog solo.

The Punkpappa remix of ‘Lift Your Life’ leans towards a mid-tempo, funk-meets-house groove, with Paul’s trademark slap-bass playing and a heavy on-the-one kick to propel the track forward.

The new track, featured on the EP is ‘Central Do Brasil’, a composition originally featured on a less well known Sivuca album from the early 80s. To our knowledge, this was previously the only version released of this track. This particular track is an instrumental with a jazz funk groove, full on brass, and heavy doses of Brazilian percussion.
